Memorial Day Fun

5.18.2009

It's official.

I have my scrubs and I'm pretty excited about that.

I get scared easily.

The other day, Suzanne and I were bored, so we called our next door neighbor, Taylor, and told him to come over. We decided to make a fort on our back porch. This is one of the advantages of out back porch: it is HUGE! So we used a bunch of furniture and blankets and went to town on our little fort. Then we decided to tell scary stories as we munched on chips.

Mary joined for this and told our first scary story. It actually is a pretty scary story, but Mary could not stop laughing. Part of her story went like this, "And then (hehe) he found his dog (haha) and it was Dead!" Yeah it kind of kills the suspense. Oh well, it was really funny. This is her scared face:

Next up was Taylor. He told a true story about a freaky guy in Poland that he tried to teach on his mission. I was terrified. He wouldn't turn the flashlight on for me :( Too bad I'm a chicken. Here's his scared face:

I went next and told about when Julie and Jeremy came to babysit me during a thunder storm and we thought someone was in the house because a door kept opening and slamming shut. Here is my scared face:

Suzanne didn't have a scary story, but she was scared by my wonderful scary-story-telling abilities:

Catching up.

We got to see President Monson speak in person! I think we were A LITTLE excited.

Suzanne and I had a Mexifest, complete with mustaches and a pinata, which I appear to be eating.

Then we went to a real one the next day.

We are so pretty.

Pudding finger painting turned into pudding FIGHT!!!!

What a weekend!

This is our porch:

Last Friday we had a porch party complete with snacks, music, and lots of friends! Near the end of our party, six of us decided to drive around and find sprinklers to run through. So we all hopped in our neighbor, Taylor's, old beaten up car. No tlong after we got in, the muffler snapped OFF the car. Wow. The girls were freaking out, but the boys didn't think it was a big deal. What an adventure.

On Saturday, a bunch of us decided to go disco skating. We first went to DI to get some fantastic clothes. It was a great night! Take a look at the pictures:

A new goal

So Suzanne and I have made a goal to go hiking every other week. We started this past Saturday when we went with Breena and Jen to American Fork Canyon. The hike we wanted to go on (complete with moose) was snowed in so we chose a different one, even though there was still quite a bit of snow.

It was so pretty when we got to the Tibble Fork Reservoir and I was glad that I brought my camera. Too bad I forgot to charge it.

The hike itself was awesome! It was mostly mud and snow. I actually think that the people who are in charge of making trails just decided to be funny and put a trail head at the beginning of a creek. It seemed like we were hiking IN the creek the whole way! I felt adventurous though. We jumped across banks and walked over logs over rivers. One river had no place to cross safely so we all had to run through a foot of FREEZING COLD water.

Suzanne was the first victim to the mud and fell in it. Near the end of the hike, I was telling myself how proud I was that I hadn't fallen yet (I am way clutzy) and then I fell and got muddy. Oh well. It was really fun. Hopefully we wont wimp out on this goal.
